- Director of the Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library.
Principal investigator and Director of the PSRML, which
provides health information services to libraries and
health professionals in Region 7 (Arizona, California,
Hawaii, Nevada and the Pacific Basin) of the National
Network of Libraries of Medicine. As Associate University
Librarian for Sciences has line administrative
responsibility for libraries serving the health, life,
and physical sciences and engineering, and functional
responsibility for developing and managing fee-based
services and services to external clientele for the UCLA
Library system.
- Professional Background and Activities:
- MLS, University of California Los Angeles; BA, French,
University of California, Irvine. Has served as President
of the Medical Library Group of Southern California and
Arizona (MLGSCA), on the Board of Directors of the
Medical Library Association (MLA), and as President of
the Association of Academic Health Sciences Library
Directors (AAHLSD). Recent professional activities
include reviewing medical informatics and library grant
applications as a member of the National Library of
Medicines Biomedical Library Review Committee, and
serving as a Consultant on the National Library of
Medicines, Long-Range Planning Panel on the
Education and Training of Health Sciences Librarians.
Editor-in-chief of an eight volume series entitled
Current Practice in Health Sciences Librarianship,
published by the Medical Library Association and
Scarecrow Press.
