General Collections

The collections of the Library are broad in scope, designed not only to support the teaching and research needs of its many users, but also to function as a resource for the health and life sciences community. The outstanding feature of the collection is the strength of its journal holdings, both current and retrospective. The Library also has an excellent reference collection, a comprehensive historical section, and gives special emphasis to the fields of neuroscience, psychiatry, psychology, ophthalmology, radiation biology, molecular biology, and vertebrate zoology.

The total collection includes over 500,000 volumes and almost 6,000 current journals. Suggestions for additions are welcome and may be left at the Reference Desk.
