and Referral (ADEAR) Center - Provides information on Alzheimers and
related dementias. Includes publications available and a searchable database.
- American Association
for the History of Nursing - A professional association open to everyone
interested in the history of nursing. The site contains a useful selection
of resources for reasearch in the history of nursing.
- American Association
of Colleges of Nursing - This site provides access to the resources
of the major organization in the area of nursing education. Association
membership, position statements and project information are some of the
available resources. Some interactive areas require association membership
for use.
- American Association of Neuroscience
Nurses - This site contains information about the association, its
journal, board certification in neuroscience nursing, professional meetings
and activities, and the core curriculum in the field. An interactive forum
for this group of nursing professionals.
- American College of Nurse Practitioners
- Provides information on the organization's activities by state. Lists
nurse practitioner programs available, as well as Continuing Education
programs, employment opportunities, state nursing boards, etc..
- American Diabetes Association
- American Medical Association (AMA)
- Provides access to the Fellowship
and Residency Electronic Interactive Database Access (FREIDA) system
and also to all AMA journals.
- American Psychological Association - Includes information on psychology for the geneeral public, media, public policy, science, conventions, membership, divisions information, and other APA services.
- American Society For Gastrointestinal
Endoscopy (ASGE) - Provides complete information about ASGE and ASGE
activities including official publications, an online reference library,
legislative action, endoscopy related meetings, clinical guidelines, etc.
- American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) - Provides biological products, technical services, and educational programs. The mission of the ATCC is to acquire, authenticate, and maintain reference cultures, related biological materials, and associated data.

- AORN (Association of Operating Room
Nurses) - Gives access to contents of Association publications, the

- Based in Sacramento, is the statewide leader in representing the interests
of hospitals, health systems, physicians groups and other member healthcare
providers in california. Includes California health care projections to
2005 and links to other healthcare organizations.

Native Plant Society - Includes Rare Plant Program and a list of an
inventory of rare and endangered vascular plants of California.

Wildflowers, Berkeley Digital Library Project - Includes searchable
database, common names, family names, latin names, and photos of native
wildflowers of California.
- Cardiology
Compass - Serves as launch pad for all online information for the practicing
cardiologist, including access to cardiology records, echo and tredmill
data, clinical trials, etc.
- Center for the Advanced Medical
Informatics at Stanford - This center brings together researchers in
medical informatics who are concerned with the use of information technology
to solve problems in clinical medicine and the biomedical sciences.
- The Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition - The Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition (CNBC) includes training opportunities, faculty directory and cognitive science technical reports.
- CenterWatch Clinical Trials Listing Service
- Lists current clinical trials by disease categories and by
state; covers new FDA approvals; allows alerting of patients or
physicians regarding clinical trials or new FDA approvals in their
chosen area of interest.
- Cognitive Science Society - Includes journal and society information, funding and employment opportunities.
- The Cooperative Human Linkage Center
- Contains searchable genetic maps showing the positions of genetic markers.
- Dentistry Interworld
- Diagnostic Test Information Server - Diagnostic Test Information Server is an online companion to the printed POCKET GUIDE TO DIAGNOSTIC TEST, encompassing only laboratory tests; still to come are microbiology and radiology assays.
- Emergency Nurses Association - Describes
the activities of ENA and related/affiliated organizations. Contact information,
certification, and examination deadlines.
- Entomology Index of Internet
Resources - A searchable database of insect-related resources on the
Internet. Resources include world-wide web sites, gopher and FTP, Usenet
news, electronic mailing lists.
- Events and Meetings
in Academic Medicine- A monthly listing, provided by the Association
of American Medical Colleges, of major medical conferences through the
year 2005.
- FAS Program for Monitoring Emerging
Diseases (ProMED) - ProMED is a project of the Federation of American
Scientists (FAS) to promote the establishment of a global program for monitoring
emerging diseases, including the surveillance of infectious diseases. The
site also includes ProMED-mail, an electronic information exchange network
which links scientists, public health officials, journalists and laypersons
in a global communications network for reporting disease outbreaks.
- FASEB Career
Resources - (Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology)
- Specializes in Biomedical Career Advancement and employment opportunities
and positions. Includes the Careers On-line database.
- FlyBase - Database
of genetic and molecular data for Drosophila.
- Gastro Extravaganza
- A web page by Dr. Joel Greenson, University of Michigan, which deals
with grastrointestinal and liver pathology. The home page was created from
his teaching experiences.
- GÉNÉTHON
- Contains human genome maps: a genetic map including 5,264 markers and
a physical map. 26,000 gene fragments have been sequenced. These maps are
tools for the localization and identification of hereditary characteristics,
and in particular those genes which are responsible for diseases, if DNA
from families affected by such diseases has been collected.

Database - REBASE is a collection of information about restriction
