California Department of Industrial Relations - This site covers Occupational Health and Safety boards, commissions, publications, an ergonomics proposal, labor laws, statistics, research, etc.
California Department of Pesticide Regulation - The site includes the department's state strategic plan, DPR publications, fact sheets, and regulatory notices. It also provides access to the DPR pesticide-related Oracle databases: Chemical Ingredients Database, Product/Label Database, DPR People Locator, and the USEPA Product Registration and Pesticide Chemcial databases.
Demographic Research Unit - Provides demographic research and analysis, produces current population estimates, future projections of population and school enrollment, and disseminates census data. There is also a list of publishers available.
Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment - This California EPA site provides full text of Risk Assessment documents, the Toxics Directory, California Cancer Potency Factors, as well as other documents and agency information.
Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development - One of the 12 departments fo the California Health and Welfare Agency. Provides contact and program information, including e-mail contacts. Also provides definitions of various state health occupations.
Agency for Healthcare Policy and Research
- Lists research activities of the agency including areas such as women's health, managed care, use of computers. Also listed are Clinical Practice Guidelines and Medical Effectiveness Program.
Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) - Searchable database of ATSDR documents and the internet HAZDAT database. Also includes state maps of hazardous sites, information on conferences, job apportuniteis, etc.
Bureau of the Census - Offers health statistics from several sources. Use the Subject A-Z menu to find health topics such as aging, fertility, health insurance, etc.
Bureau of Labor Statistics - Provides regional information as well as national. Covers the latest news releases on unemployment, living conditions, wages, and employment projections.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - Covers travelers health information, the latest disease outbreaks and vaccine recommendations; complete information about the CDC including funding, statistics, and publications. CDC Wonder, which is searchable, and provides direct access to CDC reports, guidelines and numeric public health data, is available through this site.

National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS)

National Institutes of Health - Provides access to the NIH Search Engine, the PDQ Database, NIH Office of AIDS Research, the Women's Health Institute, the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, and NIH Clinical Alerts.
National Toxicology Program - Publications listed include full texts and search capabilities for the 7th Annual Report on Carcinogens, abstracts for long term carcinogen studies, short term toxicity studies, immunotoxicity studies and reproductive studies. Testing information is also included.

International Agency for Research on Cancer - IARC's mission is to coordinate and conduct research on the causes of human cancer, and to develop scientific strategies for cancer control.
