Natural History & Biology
Focus on New Collections
- Donald Ryder Dickey (1887-1932),
a Southern California naturalist, created a large bird
and mammal specimen collection and a photographic
collection between 1909 and 1928. He documented his own
field work in notebooks. In addition he had others
collecting for him and their notebooks are included in
the collection. Dickey and his collectors focused on
Canada, Mexico, and the U.S, particularly California.
