Find Periodical (Magazine or Journal) Locations Using the Melvyl Catalog

The Melvyl Catalog lists locations and call numbers for all UC campus library materials.
Use ORION2 to locate UCLA-only materials and to find out whether or not they are checked out.

NOTE: The Melvyl Catalog and ORION2 do not list individual articles.

1. SELECT A SEARCH TYPE

Click the down arrow & select JOURNAL TITLE (EXACT).

2. ENTER A SEARCH

Click in the blank search box & type the name of the periodical (not the article title)—e.g., journal of black studies
Click on the down arrow next to FORMAT limit, select Journals & click .

3. LOCATE PERIODICAL SUBSCRIPTIONS AT UCLA

Click on Full Record to the left of an item and scroll down to find the UCLA library location:

Check to see if your volume is listed under Notes. (B=Bound volume; U=Unbound issues)
If so, write down the library location & call number.
NOTE: Check ORION2 to find out if a periodical is checked out.
